Vegvisir literally means "that which shows the way" and is referred to as the Viking compass. It is believed that the Vegvisir symbol helps the bearer find their way, especially in rough weather.

Vegvisir is mentioned in the Huld manuscript compiled by Geir Vigfusson.

The term "Vegvisir" derives from the Icelandic words Vegur, meaning "way," and Visir, meaning "indicator." Thus, Vegvisir translates literally to "wayfinder."

In Norse mythology, Mjölnir refers to the hammer wielded by the thunder god Thor. Mjölnir means "crusher" in Old Norse.

Mjölnir frequently appears in Norse sagas and was considered the most powerful weapon ever made. It had the capability to destroy entire mountain ranges with a single blow and granted Thor numerous powers, including the ability to summon lightning.

Mjölnir pendants became particularly popular as Christianity spread throughout Europe, and people wore them as a sign of defiance against newly converted Christians.
